3/23/17 - UPDATE ON BLACKFOOT LEVEE / FLOODING

 

 

The City is continuing work on reinforcing the Snake River levee north of the Blackfoot Golf Course. Mayor Paul Loomis attended a meeting with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration yesterday. He was informed that we have moved from an 80% prediction of a flood event two weeks ago to a 30% prediction of a flood event today. We are not out of the woods yet, as the forecast is predicting above normal precipitation through August.  A request was sent to the Army Corps of Engineering today from the State for support, but the Mayor said that he feels a lot better about this issue today than he has for the last month.
